The healthcare sector’s reliance on the internet is the main reason it became the subject of cyberattacks
GlobalData found that the global healthcare sector has faced the range of cyberattacks as it deals with the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the report, cyberattacks cover Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and laboratory information systems (LIS). What is more, they affect policy and procedure management systems (PPM), personal health records (PHR), and radiology information systems (RIS).
The data revealed that cyberattacks cover various patient-monitoring equipment as well.
Despite all the challenges, organizations have demonstrated a desire to take positive steps to increase security measures across enterprise IT and networks.
We’ve reported that almost 60% of organizations have faced an increased number of disruptive attacks during 2019. The survey showed that only 36% of technology-enabled business initiatives include the security team from the beginning, despite the rising risk of cyber-attacks.
