The UK is the key European market for venture capital investments

A total of 1,256 VC funding deals were announced in the UK during January-August 2021, while the disclosed funding value of these deals stood at $19.6 billion, GlobalData reports.

In fact, deal activity in 2021 so far has remained inconsistent in the UK. After 3 straight months of growth in VC deal value until July, August reversed the trend. Besides, August marks the second consecutive month of decline in deal volume.

Some of the notable VC funding deals announced during January-August 2021 in the UK included $800 million funding raised by Revolut, $600 million raised by CMR Surgical, $450 million raised by Hopin and around $450 million funding raised by Checkout, among others.
