UK fintech SumUp acquires ecommerce platform Shoplo
UK fintech company SumUp, which enables small business to accept card payments via the SumUp device and online, has acquired Shoplo, a multi-channel e-commerce platform from Poland.
According to Ecommerce News, with the acquisition, SumUp expects to expand its product offering and give their merchants access to various online marketplaces, such as Facebook, eBay, and Etsy.
Currently, SumUp offers services that enables merchants to accept payments on-the-go or online, manage their business at the point of sale and let them do invoicing and bookkeeping. With the addition of Polish e-commerce platform Shoplo, the UK company expands its services by offering online storefronts with multiple templates.
SumUp wants to be a one-stop-shop for businesses of all sizes. The acquisition of Shoplo fits in this strategy, and so does the recent acquisition of Danish company Debitoor, an invoicing-software platform.
