The usage of PayPal in online stores varies between countries
According to Ecommerce News, 93% of Italian online stores offer PayPal as a payment method while, on the other hand, it is only offered in 1% of Serbian online stores.
Recent research by ecommerceDB analyzed the vendor side to find out where online stores offer PayPal as a payment method. The research took into account the major 100 online stores across 43 different countries.
In 88% of German online stores, PayPal is offered as a payment method. This was followed closely by Spain and Austria where 86% of online stores offer PayPal.
The research also looked at countries outside of Europe. Australia scored high as well, with 92% of stores using PayPal. According to the report, most western European countries and the US rank relatively high, while Asian and Eastern European countries tend to be in lower ranks.
