Ecommerce News has found that Black Friday 2020 is gonna be very different from earlier editions. A recent survey shows that 69% of shoppers in Germany only want to shop online on Black Friday, with just 11% shopping exclusively in-store.

Black Friday 2020 takes place on November 27 and means all kinds of special promotions and offers for 24 hours or more.

And in Germany, 4 in 10 people surveyed say the current corona pandemic has had an impact on their shopping plans. They now prefer to shop online rather than in stores.

The research also shows that Black Friday is already a very familiar day in Germany, with 92% of respondents being familiar with it. And 66% of them bought something on this day in 2019.

This year, 77% of the 1,002 respondents have plans to buy something on Black Friday. And the majority would like to spend an amount between €101 and €200.

We’ve reported that a number of retailers reporting strong performance during the Black Friday period weren’t able to boost sales growth over the Christmas trading period.
