Zalando and PostNord test private delivery points in Denmark
Zalando and PostNord have partnered up to test a pick-up and drop-off point service that’s operated by private persons. The pilot will run in Aarhus and Copenhagen in Denmark and is managed by Dutch delivery service Homerr, Ecommerce News reports.
Zalando?wants to have up to 50 points in residential areas that are operated by people who spend much of the day at home, such as stay-at-home parents, entrepreneurs and retirees. They will earn an “additional small monthly income” for collecting packages from neighbors and delivering parcels nearby
The idea behind these pick-up and drop-off points is that it will offer increased convenience for Zalando’s customers in?Denmark. the private points network will be managed by Homerr, a Dutch last mile delivery service.
Customers can select their preferred pick-up point during the checkout process on Zalando.dk, after which PostNord will deliver the parcel to the new service point. The Nordic postal company will also send a message via text or email when the parcel is ready for pick-up.
